Great-great granddaddy.
I'm sure he'd be pleased to find himself on deviantArt.
:)
The Willimantic Chronicle Wed Sep 19, 1883: Mansfield:
All the stone work has been done by Mr. Joseph Jones of Willimantic a large part having been laid with his own hands and it is safe to say that he has no superior in laying farm walls. Mr. Jones is a light, sinewy looking man of agreeable appearance and has been engaged on these walls for five seasons, handling stones all the time and it is a wonder how he endured it and maintains his straight upright form and elastic step.

AND he's missing an ear!

When I first layed my eyes on this, I thought it was a photo..
it looks like an old photo, it has that certain feel and composition of an old photo, Then I noticed it was by Pyrrhite and realized it had to be a drawing, *pyrrhite
normally draws animals so this is something different! Wow what an amazing job! the textures, shading and tonal values are perfect. It's such a wonderful and natural pose, with a very strong sense of history. I really can't fault this in anyway, you have done your Great-great grandfather proud with this amazing drawing, keep up the great work!
